Participation in ENQA’s seminars
This week, we participated in two seminars in Brussels organized by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
The first seminar, «Seminar on the European Dimension of Quality Assurance», focused on the evolution of the European framework for quality assurance. It provided a general perspective on the history and principles of the European framework, the role of the Bologna Process, and the latest revisions of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG). Additionally, it addressed quality assurance practices in joint university programmes, student involvement in these processes, and the diversity of approaches to managing follow-ups, complaints, and appeals.
The second seminar, «Workshop on Staff Development in Quality Assurance Agencies», offered a practical perspective on the professional development of staff in European quality assurance agencies. During this event, participants analyzed ENQA’s professional competencies framework, initiatives to create attractive working environments, and the skills needed to adapt to changes in the education sector. Moreover, practical sessions were held to update this competency framework.
Participating in these events provides us with the opportunity to expand our knowledge and share experiences with other European agencies. This exchange of ideas and best practices strengthens our agency’s commitment to excellence and the continuous improvement of the higher education system in the Balearic Islands, ensuring its alignment with European standards and principles.
