AQUIB attends the Santander Summer Courses
AQUIB attended the meeting The academic and scientific career in Spain, which is part of the Summer Courses of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP). The meeting took place from 6th to 8th Semptember 2023 and was organized by ANECA.
Mrs. Pilar Paneque directed the session and introduced Joan Subirats, minister of Universities, who opened the meeting.
During the meeting a great variety of speakers gave an overview of the current situation of the academic and scientific career in Spain. It was emphasized the need for a reform of its evaluation system, the social impact that research generates, future challenges, new ways of understanding and evaluating scientific production. It was also discussed the demands of the community of junior researchers and Spanish scientists who are abroad, as welll as new chances modelled by the recent laws of science (LCTI 2022) and universities (LOSU 2023).
