We have successfully completed the external evaluation of the applications for the grant call aimed at hiring a predoctoral researcher to conduct breast cancer research. This call, published in May 2024 by the Institut d’Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV), involved a rigorous selection process that began on 11 July 2024 and was successfully concluded yesterday.

The aim of these grants is to foster high-quality research that leads to the defence of a doctoral thesis focused on breast cancer. Additionally, the grant recipient is expected to contribute with high-impact scientific publications in specialised journals and to transfer the knowledge generated to both the scientific community and society at large, thereby advancing diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the disease.

At AQUIB, we managed the entire external evaluation process, which included the preparation of technical evaluation reports based on the call’s requirements and the selection of expert evaluators. To ensure maximum transparency and objectivity, an independent external evaluation committee was set up, consisting of specialists in the relevant fields. This committee has been responsible for issuing evaluation reports that formed the basis for the final allocation of the grants, which is under the responsibility of IISPV.
