External evaluation process of IME's 2024 research grants has been completed

On December 12th, it was concluded the process of scientific-technical and external evaluation of the research grants of the Institut Menorquí d'Estudis (IME), which started on 21 September 2024, shortly after the validation of a new agreement between the AQUIB and the IME, which encompassed this collaboration.

The IME published its usual call for applications last spring with the purpose of endorsing scientific and academic research in and from Menorca.

The external evaluation process followed the AQUIB's External evaluation protocol for research grants and involved independent experts in the scientific fields required for these grants.

The Institut Menorquí d'Estudis visits AQUIB

On March 22nd the Institut Menorquí d'Estudis (IME) represented by its scientific coordinator, Marta Jordi, visited AQUIB and had a meeting with its director and the technical evaluation team.

The IME informed us that it is an autonomous organization of the Consell Insular de Menorca dedicated to the research and dissemination of scientific knowledge from a local ground but connected to the global. For this purpose, it has annual research grants which announces every year at a competitive level.

In order to achieve a better scientific evaluation process, the IME was interested in entrusting the external evaluation of its grants to AQUIB. To this end, it was agreed to negotiate an agreement between both parties to make this collaboration possible.
