Aquib - Accreditation Renewal

Accreditation Renewal

At AQUIB, we work to ensure that official university programmes meet the established quality standards. One of the key processes for upholding this commitment is the renewal of accreditation, which includes an external evaluation carried out by a panel of experts.

The purpose of this evaluation is to verify that programmes are being delivered appropriately. In the case of bachelor’s degrees comprising 240 ECTS credits, as well as university master’s degrees and PhD programmes, the process must be completed within six years of their implementation. For bachelor’s degrees of 300 or 360 credits, the renewal must take place within eight years.

This week we conducted the external site visit for the renewal of accreditation of the interuniversity doctoral programme in Tourism offered by the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and the Universitat de Girona (UdG). During the visit, the panel held interviews with the different stakeholder groups involved in the programme — including students, administrative and technical staff, academic staff, employers, among others — in order to gain first-hand insight into the reality of the programme.

The outcome of this evaluation will be reflected in the accreditation renewal report, which will be published shortly in our report search engine.
