«Twenty Years Later: Changes and Challenges in the New Accreditation Criteria for University Teaching Staff»
On 25 June, we had the opportunity to hold an open session at the University of the Balearic Islands, titled: «Twenty Years Later: Changes and Challenges in the New Accreditation Criteria for University Teaching Staff».
During this session, we presented two key tools we have developed to help build a university system that is more transparent, fair and aligned with quality standards:
- The new set of Evaluation criteria for the accreditation of tenured and senior teaching staff, developed under the LOSU framework. This approach recognises diverse academic careers, seeks balance between research and teaching, and promotes a more qualitative assessment of academic merit.
- The study 20 Years of the Accreditation Programme for Contracted Teaching Staff (available in Spanish and Catalan), a retrospective analysis of the 2004–2022 period that has enabled us to identify trends, inequalities and areas for improvement, as well as propose guidance for the new accreditation system.
We sincerely thank everyone for the warm welcome, the interest shown and the contributions shared throughout the session.
