On June 17, 2025, the 13th Research Managers event in Catalonia took place at the University of Barcelona, organized by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) and the University of Barcelona (UB), under the theme The Value of Research Management. This edition reiterated the importance of management professionals within the Catalan university and research system, establishing itself as a key space for sharing experiences and best practices.

The day focused on highlighting how professional and skilled research management contributes to maximizing research efficiency and ensuring a positive impact on society. Throughout the parallel sessions, key topics were addressed, such as the career paths of Research Managers and Administrators (RMAs), coordination of complex European projects, integration of the gender perspective in research, and opportunities for training and skills development.

The event opened with a keynote on the recognition of the profession and concluded with a debate on internationalization, interdisciplinary and institutional recognition of the research management role. It brought together professionals from universities, research centres, and public institutions from across Catalonia.

This meeting highlighted the value of professional research management as a keystone and strategic driver of research.
